So y'all know I love a good wine bar and a fantastic charcuterie board so on my recent girl's trip to Kiawah, my eyes lit up when I saw this place! There was no way I could leave without stopping through to experience what is 'FortyEight - Wine Bar & Kitchen'. I sat at the bar and since we are still in the midst of the pandemic, the standard precautions (face masks, social distancing) were still in place. Greeted promptly and given directions on how it all works - so keep scrolling for the dish!
There are these amazing wine tasting stations throughout and you are given a card which is linked to your form of payment provided. You insert the card at the station of your choice, choose your pour sample, and sip away! It's the perfect way to sample as little or as much as you want to tickle your tongue with your wine picks! Just genius & so much fun!
Needless to say, there is not a shortage of options. Each station had at least 2 bottles to sample and they were all group accordingly. The best way to have your very own personalized wine tasting while your food is being prepped and a sure fire way to discover new wines to add to your favorites list.
And another treat! The chef's special charcuterie board was absolutely fantastic and was a nice mix of everything I like! It was not overbearing in any sense and was well suited for a pre-spa treat for this relaxing Saturday.
